CNC Machining utilizes computers to control machine tools, ensuring precise and repeatable manufacturing of metal and plastic parts. This advanced process enables the creation of complex shapes with high precision, making it essential in modern manufacturing.
Our CNC Machining process begins with the creation of a CAD drawing, either in 2D or 3D. This drawing is then translated into a G-code program, which the CNC machine can understand. The program is loaded into the machine, and a test run, known as “cutting air,” is performed to ensure there are no issues with speed or tool positioning. This step is crucial for preventing errors that could result in scrapped parts or damaged machinery.
The primary advantage of CNC Machining lies in its precision and repeatability. Unlike manual machining, CNC Machining can replicate the same process with exact accuracy, producing complex shapes that would be nearly impossible to achieve manually. This makes it ideal for tasks requiring a high level of precision and for producing parts in large quantities with consistent quality.
At BMC, our machine shop is equipped with numerous state-of-the-art machining centers capable of handling a variety of materials, including aluminum, steel, stainless steel, copper, plastics, and other hard materials. We cater to both low and high-quantity fabrication needs, ensuring that every machined part meets the highest standards of quality and precision.
Material Versatility
Our machining centers are designed to handle a broad spectrum of materials. From common metals like aluminum and steel to more specialized materials like stainless steel and copper, we have the tools and expertise to deliver exceptional results.
Production Machining
Our full-service CNC machine shop is geared towards both production machining and prototyping. This flexibility allows us to support projects at any stage of development, whether you’re in the early prototyping phase or ramping up for full-scale production.
